John Nicolosi received a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 1977 from Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, PA. His education includes certification (in PA) to teach grades K-12 VOCAL, CHORAL, CLASSROOM, and INSTRUMENTAL music. John was a trombone major in college and also specializes in teaching all brass instruments.
He has or is currently teaching adults and children ranging in age from 5 to middle aged. Many of his local brass students have a high success rate with auditions for Middle Tennessee State Band and All-Montgomery County Honors Band; much time is spent during lessons honing in on the Prepared Piece, Scales, and Sight Reading for these auditions.
In one instance, during the 2001-2002 school year, he was placed as a full time Substitute Teacher in an elementary school in West Shore School District near Harrisburg, PA to replace the regular music teacher on maternity leave. His experience included rehearsing and conducting the 5th Grade Chorus in the Spring Concert.
